As an orphan, she was raised in China by Shaolin Monks and trained in several styles of Kung Fu.  On her 18th birthday, she was sent to America to find out the truth about her parents and real family.  Instead, she discovered anime DVDs and Rock Lee from Naruto.  While seeking a way to pay for said DVDs, she was discovered by a talent agent and became a model.  At the same time, she became a champion of the people when she single-handedly stopped an armed bank robbery.  She was content enough to put the search for her family on hold.

However, the life she had built for herself in America was quickly destroyed when she found out that she had been under the influence of one of the Crystals for nearly her entire life.  The Crystal could not corrupt her because she was too pure of heart.  However, it regulated her emotions to allow her to control her considerable Chi without needing to be angry.  Until meeting Terry, she had never had a strong emotion in her life.  With the Crystal gone, her emotions and her powers are mostly out of control.  She fell in love with Terry due to accidentally absorbing Terry and Fujiko’s strong feelings for each other and is now trying to counter that by acting as their little sister.  She truly does not want to get in Fujiko’s way, though it took a while to convince Fujiko of that.

As of now, she can only fully use her powers while angry.  In fact, she seems to become even stronger the angrier she gets.  But even without her Chi powers, she is still a very skilled martial artist and has learned to duplicate the fighting moves she has seen in various fighting games and anime.  She enjoys using Rock Lee’s fighting style so much that she keeps bandages on her arms for the day when she finally masters the Primary Lotus.

Having been raised in a Shaolin temple, which had very little in terms of modern day comforts, she knows next to nothing about technology.  Most technology, she believes are various forms of magic. Many things that most people take for granted, she simply doesn’t understand.  She has, however, accepted TV, DVDs, and video games as non-magic and understands them well enough to use them.  Also, while she was born in America, she can’t really be called a native speaker of English.  That and her upbringing cause her to speak very properly for the most part.  Many everyday, American phrases go over her head because of this as well.

Because of her new role as the little sister of Terry and Fujiko, she seems to be experiencing a second childhood.  Or first since she never had a normal one.  She views the world from a very innocent perspective, seeing things in simple, absolute terms like good and evil, friend and foe.
